At times the ignition switch stays in the 'energize starter' position. The solenoid seems to let go but you can hear the starter still spinning. (I
Be sure it's the switch, and not the starter solenoid. Putting it in gear should shut off the starter if it's a switch problem. The switch screws onto the back of the key lock assembly, btw. If it's the solenoid, pony up for a new (rebuilt) starter.
