Seems the short head bolts aren't a common item, so I'll have to wait
another couple days to get this job finished. We broke a head bolt
(last one, left rear) taking them out Sunday evening. so stopped there
with the head still on -- no need to allow the mice into it, eh?

Bummer -- I won't use any of the old bolts and had planned to
(foolishly -- the buddy I buy all my parts through said he thought we
were missing something!) and he cannot get the short ones, had to order
them through Mercedes in Indianapolis. Nobody stocks them, must not be
much demand.

However, since one broke and three weren't very tight, I suspect the
whole lot of 26, so will put new ones in.

Bother. I had a bad feeling about this one.....

Peter
