"Ich gehe auf eine Wassermelone Skiingreise zum Schwarzen Meer" This is perfectly correct. "Ich gehe" means simply "I go" and is not specific whether I fly, drive, walk or whatever. Or one could also say: "Ich werde auf eine Wassermelone Skiingreise zum Schwarzen Meer gehen" Now the verb is at the end.

I think you can use gehen in this case...fahren would probably be more accurate. When you use a modal verb, the secondary verb, in the infinitive, is placed at the end of the sentence. SO - I can (a verb) drive (a verb) a Mercedes. Ich kann ein Mercedes fahren. Not sure about other situations where verbs get moved to the end of the sentence. IIRC my HS German teacher would have had a fit with that, something about "gehe" implying that you were going to walk there. "Fahre", if you were traveling by machinery. Of course, he was rather old- school high German, and the texts we had were about WW2 vintage and still used black letter forms. Long s's and the like. Oh, and oughtn't the verb come at the end? Man, it's been a long time. My parents' pickelhaube fit him, looked like he was made for it too. -- Jim _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com Christopher McCann, happy customer of austerlitzshepherds.com "Ohne Zucht keine Leistung, ohne Leistung keine Zucht!" -2006 GSD, "Anke" (Yanke von der Burg Austerlitz) -2006 GSD, "Sammy" (Zane von der Burg Austerlitz) "Freude an der Arbeit: Hoechste Leistung - Mercedes-Benz." -1985 300SD, 220K miles, "Wulf" -1982 300Dt, 117K miles, "little blue klatter box" --------------------------------- Don't be flakey.
