I have yet to hear ANYONE mention that coal is filled with radon (radioactive) gas. Coal piles emit much more radioactivity than any nuclear power plant.
I am always struck by the fact that those who oppose nuclear power are the same folks who just ADORE skiing in the Colorado mountains (high elevation = more radiation + the rocks are the source of uranium), or they LOVE the beaches of California (soaking up additional radiation).
