I have a vacuum line on my 79 300SD that came loose it is the 1 that hooks into 
 a tee  and  into the top of the white plastic prapotioning  valve  and runs  
between firewall and back of engine . Where does  it  hook up  ?

That test may indeed show something that's broken, or it may cause
something to break. I'd be really leery of using the IP to keep the crank
from turning.
