First a confession- my 240D has the green stuff in it from a PO and I need
to get it out of there and will do so in the next few weeks, when I get
time.

I have had this car 4 ½ years-some PO pulled out aux fan, part of AC system,
etc. For the first 3 ½ years it almost never ran above 175-180F, except on
an Eyetalian tune up on I 95 on a hot summer day.

Last summer I noticed that it would warm up under load even at ambient temps
of 40F and would go up to about the 212-horizontal line. Never went above it
and always came back down with less demand in engine.

So apart from changing the evil green stuff to G-05, what is the next most
likely cause of this symptom? Since it is still a minor problem, I am
thinking of just trying this first because I no longer drive this car as my
300-500 miles a week commuter car. I do know about cooling systems in other
cars, such as belts, thermostat, etc.

So what should I do first, either after or in conjunction with the refill?

TIA
