<<<<There are some pros and cons between the 300 and the 420. The 420 has more power and will get only slightly worse fuel mileage. However, the timing chain is less of an issue because it is a straight six instead of V6. In addition, I bet mine has had more work done to it to make t nearly perfect.

BillR PS - That '85 300TD that was at my nephew's shop suddenly disappeared, and I am told the owner sold it for scrap. I quit mentioning it on the list as a possibility when I noticed that the exhaust system fell off while it was just sitting in the lot. That and the brakes being so bad he wouldn't drive it suggested that there had been no maintenance done on it at all in quite some time. Too bad, as the body looked good and the interior wasn't too bad.
