Dave, wouldn't drive it that way too long. The tranny can overheat real quick at a stoplight.

Well, the thunderstorm passed over so I went back out to try and get the 450sl going - I whacked a little more on the solenoid, checked some wires, and she fired right up.Thanks to those who gave me advice. Now I know I need to lube the throttle linkage as it sticks, and the idle seems high (1500 rpm). The rpm does drop to 800 or so when I put it in gear. I looked quick under the hood, and didn't see an idle control valve like I thought it would have (as on the 420sels I have owned). Anyone know what controls idle on this, and what the proper RPM should be at idle?
