I REALLY like the two tilt sunroofs I've owned. One (in my wagon) gave me a problem several years ago that my mechanic <http://rc-imports.com/> repair for very modest money. The roof in my 190Dt has never caused me a problem.

The old sliding roof was well within the ability of the average DIYer to maintain. It takes a VERY advanced DIYer or very knowledgeable pro to maintain the tilt roof. Most people will NOT succeed by reading the manual and tacking most problems with the tilt roof.
