Easy fix. Remove the gauge sender and give it a good cleaning. You can use this write up for senders on the diesels as a guide.

If you lift up the rubber mat on your trunk floor, you'll see a big plastic cover. Pry that up, and you're fuel gauge sender is beneath. Use a good sized pipe wrench or monkey wrench and unscrew it after you have removed the connector. Lift it out VERY SLOWLY, as the sender tube will contain a lot of gasoline, and it has to drain out of a very, very small hole in the side of the tube. You'll hear it draining. Other than that, the process of cleaning is the same for yours as it is for the diesels.
