A friend of mine in his late 40's used to sell Buicks, and he had a Park Avenue Ultra for a while. He did believe in the 3.8L engine. He had a '92 Century that had some other V6 (3.3L IIRC) that was also a good runner, but was a bit "coarser" since it didn't have any balance shafts.
