I once hauled a 2600lb boat and trailer up into mild Canadian mountains with a fuel injected 93hp Horizon. Made it to the Macinac bridge in 5th gear, but needed 4th a couple of times in Michigan's upper penninsula. 29mpg for the Michigan part of the journey, I was not willing to go over 55mph with no trailer brakes, especially since one of the trailer tires had been replaced with an underrated tire. Several mountains in Canada were ascended in 3rd or 4th with heavy throttle, descended in 3rd with the ignition off. This was after had I wrecked it and put in a used radiator that cooled poorly, so it was an exercise in engine temperature management.
