That's like asking, "If I change my oil regularly will my engine never break?" Unfortunatley with the mechanical odo's they will break eventually, even if you only reset when stopped. It is a ordinary design and there is no way of fixing that. What I am saying is that conventional wisdom is to reset tripmeters when they are not turning. Whether you do or not is up to you, just like changing the oil is up to you.
