Thx Dan, Yep, way ahead of you. Actually, I was going to replace all the rubber lines and flush the brake fluid when I discovered a chimpanze had worked on the calipers at some point in the past. All 4 bleeders ere rounded off like they'd been tightened with a pair of pliers. Rather than risk taking the car off the road for several days as I attempted to repair the bleed valves, I bought a set (4) of '95 E300D calipers from a fellow lister who upgraded his brakes. I cleaned them up and painted the making them a direct replacement along with the almost new Padgid pads and excellent rotors.
Then my nightmare took a turn for the worse when I found the rear metal brake lines had been tweaked by the same monkey. All the flare nuts were rounded off. Great, just great. So, Rusty ordered one from Germany and had the other on the shelf. Now, I have 2 straight metal brake lines which I will need to fit into place by bending them properly. More fun. Can't wait. Anyway, I finished the fronts because they were the less damaged of the 4. Next, I'll tackle the rears when my wife can be without her car for a little while. Not looking forward to removing the brake lines from the splitter next to the diff. - and like the idea of bending & fitting the metal lines it promises to be filled with agony. I'll probably need to cut them off somehow. That's the whole sordid story up to now. When I replace all the rear stuff I'll probably have some more problems to report. ;-) Have a nice week - Larry T (67 MGB, 74 911, 78 240D, 91 300D) www.youroil.net for Oil Analysis and Weber Parts Test Results http://members.rennlist.com/oil PORSCHE POSTERS! youroil.net Weber Carb Info http://members.rennlist.com/webercarbs . ----- Original Message ----- From: "LWB250" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Mercedes Discussion List" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Sent: Monday, July 23, 2007 2:46 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] ABS Flush >I would seriously consider replacing all the brake > lines at this time as well.
