Unless you are doing TIG brazing!  ;)

I have been using the silicon-bronze rod with the TIG welder for almost
everthing these days, it gives you all the precision of TIG with even
less heat into the workpiece and it is more forgiving of dirty metal
(vs. regular TIG)

If you do it right it is a true braze in that the filler sits on the
metal rather than melting into it, but interestingly enough you can
turn up the heat and it will mix with the steel like regular filler
rod.  I hove no idea of the strength implications though...

It is the best thing in the world for TIG'ing on old dirty car metal!
