I wouldn't worry too much. I've seen a few '72 220D's on this side of the Columbia, most would be considered project cars. There's a guy who has a '72 220D for sale, one of three Mercedes Diesels along with a '75 240D and an '80 300sD. He got them all as a package deal cleaning out a construction site. The SD started after being "Jumpered" (his words not mine), but the other two just turned over. I have a hunch that the W115's would have lit off too if he had known about the pullstart knob. I'm hoping for the best as I'm going to look at the 220D tomorrow if it's still available.
