One day last week I ran out for a quick lunch mid-afternoon. Went through the drive through at the local Wendy's. It was warm out and I had the AC on and the idle turned up to help with that on my 76 300D. I had to pull up to the window to give my order as the young lady with the headset could not tell what I was saying to her over the clatter of the engine. I did not think it sounded louder than normal but I suppose it is a bit noisier than most new cars.
