How about discussing fishing? This should be a little more palletable subject for the anti-handgun folks.
You know, the act of presenting a tasty bit of food to an unsuspect fish, only to snag sensitive mouth parts with a barbed hook, causing unimaginable amounts of pain, followed by dragging the fish out of the water by his hooked mouth? And finally, we add insult to injury by sliding the fish onto a nylon line or placing him in a cooler of ice water, allowing him to die a slow death. After all, we want him to be "fresh" when we get him home and scale him alive.
