Had a thought this evening as I backed out my driveway in the 240D. It's a fairly steep but short driveway.
I notice that there is an unpleasant amount of smoke when I do this. I thought maybe it's just that I notice it since I'm backing into the exhaust. But tonight I smelled burning oil. Was wondering if somehow the angle of the car coupled with the inertia of moving backward could cause the engine to burn some oil? I don't know how this would specifically work, it's just a bit of general detective work.
