That sure sounds like a fuel shortage and the cannister filter is the most  
likely suspect, followed by the in tank screen strainer.  He says he  changed 
the disposable filter and I guess he means the one at the transfer pump  inlet. 
 Cracked flexible fuel lines in the transfer piping may also be  letting air 
into the system.
