As Alex said, don't look to the UN - they have their own agenda and most
of it involves filling their pockets with our dollars. Their corruption
knows no bounds. And they think they are being progressive by putitng the
countries with the worst human rights record on the committee to set the UNs
agenda when dealing with countries that are slaughtering the citizens.
Their first worry? Take guns & other weapons away from citizens so they can
be "protected" by one govt. agency or another - which always arrives too
late, not at all or unarmed so they can film the scenes of death and
destruction - after the bad guys have left of course.
Every dollar we send to the UN is a huge waste of a US citizens tax
dollar.
