Conventional wisdom on this list is that duplicate keys made on brass
blanks will leave metal filings in the lock and eventually this will
"gunk up" the lock until one day your ignition cylinder won't turn and
then your're in *big* trouble.

The OEM key blanks are steel and are not eroded by the lock tumblers.
