Thankfully, most modern marine engine cooling systems no longer use sea 
water thru the engine - the engines cooling water circulates thru a system 
similar to a cars - seawater flows thru a condenser/radiator to provide 
cooling.

But corrosion is a continual problem regardless of technique used.
