Certainly algea is one avenue that still needs improvement on yet posses a strong possibility. However, there are also limitations with algae that hopefully research will help alleviate.
My point of interest for biodiesel is to utilize community based resources. I cannot even recall how many times I have been offered soy at a very good price - but lets review the offer a little more closely. Lets see the soy is grown in South America shipped to the US via ocean going tankers and then shipped closer to me by rail and finally delivered to me by truck. In my opinion that makes absolutely NO SENSE! Palm oil is great. IF it is local, currently grown, harvested and utilized commodity. However, to cut down forests to plant more crop only defeats the purpose of sustainability in my thought process.
