I am yet again thankful that I am able to buy parts from Rusty.
His prices for the ignition lock I recently purchased are $ 208.00 retail
and $ 156.93 our price.
I recently got an email from Rock Auto, the place where I bought the Bosch
rubber caps to fix vacuum door lock actuators, reminding me of a discount
coupon that would soon expire. I went to their site and looked at prices
for parts for our '82 240D/3.0 (admittedly, their focus is domestic and
not foreign, but ...) and found that their selling price for the same part
is $336.79!
To be fair, they do list the MANN Part # PF10551X oil filter for $7.51
while Rusty lists a Mann filter for $ 8.81. They also list MANN Part
#WK716 Fuel Filter: Spin on for $6.37 while Rusty lists Fuel Filter Mahle
for $7.77 and Fuel Filter Bosch for $8.19. Comparing apples to apples,
however, Rock Auto lists BOSCH Part #74012 {Fuel Filter #1457434153}
Secondary fuel filter for $9.54.
For air filters, Rusty is cheaper at $11.44 versus Rock Auto's $11.61.
For wheel lug bolts, Rusty lists, Lug Bolt Febi (steel wheel) $ 1.51, and,
Lug Bolt Febi (alloy wheel) $ 3.47. Rock Auto lists FEBI Part #2014010270
{Wheel Bolt For steel wheel} $1.00 and FEBI Part # 1264010670F {Wheel Bolt
For alloy wheel #1264010670} $2.54.
