I know the 240D got Mannys to be a truely "Base" model with the advantages of a manny being a happy additive that came with it - making the 240D much better for the US road system by making it a bit peppier. But to have a 300D or 300D Turbo with a Manny would seem to be the best of all worlds!! With tall gearing to take advantage of the 300D torque and rev range it would be an ideal mid-sized car. Of course, the more I live with my W124 the more I think *that's* the ideal vehicle.
hat kind of mileage do they get? Is the manny from a 240D or must it be stronger? I know the answer to this question is "Of course! if you have the money and time" but if someone could address the difficulties with converting a 240D to a 300D with a manny tranny I'd appreciate it? I have a 240D AT at the moment. So you see where I;m going with this -- thx!
