Ralph, I've always suspected the injection pump to be producing a leak on the engine. Also, yes full disclosure, the vacuum pump gasket is not 100% seated correctly. I didn't notice this until AFTER everything was re-installed and running!! At the time it was not leaking so I just left it and thanked my lucky stars.
I think you'll see the green gasket if you look at the left hand side of the cover near the 10 o'clock position??
