The only Bose experience I have is the two Bose speakers I bought for my home stereo system around 15-20 years ago. They had as good a low end back then as the much more expensive JBL speakers I was comparing them with, and they still do today.
On the negative side the ex-girlfriend had a Bose sound system in her 2003 Maxima. When it worked it sounded great, but with less than 45000 miles and 4 years it was already getting flaky! So maybe their earlier stuff was pretty good, but maybe the newer stuff is not so hot.
