Interstate is good.  However, if this is the second battery in a  
year, I'd suspect excessive current draw on the starter (typical as  
they get old and die) that is killing the battery, or either a  
current drain or a bad charging system unable to keep the battery up.

Do the test described, and find a battery/alternator shop that can do  
the correct starter and alternator testing.  If you have a diode out  
in the alternator, it may not be able to keep up with the wintertime  
load, allowing the battery to stay half charged all the time.

A starter with bad winding (the resistance goes up, they draw an  
astonishing amount of current, and do not turn fast enough) will  
croak one too.
