You need to remove the center dash vent and pull the duct off behind it. If it's like the W124, the wheel that operates the damper inside is held in place with an allen head screw, accessable from the passenger compartment through the louvers. The vent itself is probably held in with spring clips or by a screw on the side visible when you open the glove box.
The vacuum servo is the INSIDE the air box.
