a Mac SE. With a, get this, 20 mb hard drive. Cost $5500, and if you wanted real speed and set up to the SE30, with a 40 mb drive, it was a cool $7500!
My first computer, a PC with a 40MB HD purchased in 1990 was $10K, but that included the nifty talking gadgetry (card, external speaker, software and configuration). I don't think I've surpassed that $10K amount in all my computer purchases combined since then. Currently, the speech synthesizer/screen reader is nothing more than software which can be installed into ANY computer within a few minutes! It needs no card nor external speaker since it uses the computer's sound card. We've come a long way indeed. Kevin in Hillsboro, OR 1983 300SD 266Kmi, Ursula PS. I didn't know that there were 8gb USB flash drives! I think I have a 2gb stick. _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
