Kaleb, I worked that shift for many years. The trick I found was that I had to disaplan my body (And my family & friends) that I was going to be unconsious between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Anyone who disrespected that was at risk of getting a 2:00am phone call!
If you get ill {Cold/Flu/etc), it takes longer to recover. Thanksgiving sucks, imagine eating a big dinner in the middle of your sleep time. Last, some folks (Maybe 20%) just cannot adapt. Don't fight it. I really liked it, no bosses around (I was a foreman), lots of prime time when off, extra pay (20% in my case).
