I haven't seen one in ages either.  (Funny thing is that I do see
other VW-based kit cars pretty regularly---the Gazelles that look like
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the ones that look like Bricklins, can't
remember what they were called.)

You can still buy a new Meyers Manx---www.meyersmanx.com, natch.

Still built on a VW frame, but now they suggest you put a Subaru WRX
engine in it, which makes for a power-to-weight ratio better than a
427 Cobra.  Yikes.
