Without going into detail, the top of the line Pontoon was the 220s 
(which was the S class of the era), being the most desirable pontoon due 
to the extra chrome and features.
Once you get into the 300's you are talking big limousine, the Maybach 
of the time, with the 300d being the most common and famous but there 
where others but I am pretty sure they never made a 300s. They started 
with the 300a then b,c and finally the d, which got the nickname 
Adenauer. Note the small d, this designates a particular version rather 
than the type of engine as in 300D or 300E. However a 300S was produced
