I agree that the freeway is safer than backroads as everyone is going in the 
same direction. There are issues with people changing lanes and merging 
though being 2 wheels if you are a defensive driver its better than the 
backroads.

Though here in CA the main highway is interstate 80 and where I live its got 
to be the worst freeway in the country for comfort. Its so broken up and 
patched its a sad state. Am wondering what the fuel tax goes to pay!.
