And when/if you do so, do NOT CUT OFF the old cable until you have the pan
off and have verified that you have the correct replacement. There are at
least two styles of connector at the end inside the transmission, and they
don't interchange.

As the shop that did mine found out at 2 p.m. on Friday, after their wrench
had snipped the cable before he pulled the pan.

I did enjoy a nice rental car for the weekend, however, on their dime.
