Thanks, for the link to the Coast Guard stories/histories, Wonko/Don. My brother was delivered to Omaha beach on LCI(L) 88 operated by Coast Guard, as were most of them. Brother was second off left/port stairs/ramp into water to his chin at same time a shell hit the right/starboard ramp destroying it and many troops.
