Interesting stuff.  Thanks, Tom.  Of course it's mostly straight from
the PR department, and they would paint the same rosy picture if the
company were (again) on the verge of bankruptcy.

On the other hand, (Mercedes content!) the merger with Daimler-Benz
was great for Chrysler technology-wise, IMHO, even if it turned out to
be a bad move for D-B.  I just drove an '07 Charger.  The last
Chrysler product I drove was a rental '04 Intrepid and this was
light-years beyond.  The LX platform cars seem to me the closest you
can come to going back in time and getting a brand new Mercedes from
the era most of us like best---the '80s and '90s.  Really nice car.
The big steering wheel and the controls were just like my 124s!
