My thought is that users (myself included) have aliases for flags that change behavior to the command, e.g. amend_with_grandparent = amend -r .^^:: Seeing "amend_with_grandparent" would vastly help convey what I did as a user. Though, if this is too complicated, I'm totally ok with ditching it.
