Try to isolate the line in your QTP script that causes your AUT to fail during replay. Posting it here together with describing what is actually done by that code on AUT side might be helpful (as well as might be not). Another option is to try other recording mode (low-level for example) to see if problem persists. And what did you mean by "taskmanager appears to be not available" - how task Manager is involved here?
