1) is any special plugin required for POS
I am testing POS Application using Silktest. As far as QTP is concerened i
think a plugin is required depending on what technology the POS application
is developed, for different languages different plugins are required.
2) does QTP needs to be installed in POS register or else is there any way
we can launch pos application on PC?
YES. We install silk on every register
3) If we VNC to a POS from PC then can this help in automation? as per my
understanding since POS would appear as a webpage thorough VNC this will
essentially change the original object property of POS application.
NO
4) how can inputs from peripherals (scanner, credit card swiping etc) be
simulated?
You cannot simulate pheripherals, need to write a script for scanning
and swipping that can be done only by hand key, for scanning write a script
for dept no, style and price same for swipping credit or debit cards.
5) If any one has already done POS automation using QTP or any other
tool kindly provide an outline on how you managed it?
I dont understand what you mean to ask here. If you have any question or
clarifications let me know.
