There could be three possibilities for the objects not getting recorded 1st Make sure that you have opened the QTP first and then the AUT 2nd check if you have chosen ADD-in as required in ADD-In manage 3nd. Goto Automation-->record and run setting-->choose first option ( in both 'web' and 'windows applications' tabs)
