Few things you need to make sure for this: 1. As mentioned by Taru, make sure the appropriate add-ins are available and loaded in the test 2. Launch QTP before launching the AUT. This will make that all the QTP hooks and dlls will gets attachred to the AUT 3. Last bot least, you can also try disabling UAC settings if woring on Windows 7 or higher
