Siva: My examples were for the environment I worked in and not necessarily enlightening in themselves.
When I was initially writing regression automation tests, I used a program called SAMIE. The url is http://samie.sourceforge.net/ . Samie is written in perl and if you know Perl you can add your own modules without too much difficulty. Samie is exclusively for writing automation tests against IE. I do not know how useful Samie would be for the new versions of IE. I also wrote some Perl/TK stuff to make the regression tests look more "polished". It was fun learning. Do a google on perl guitest examples and a lot of examples show up. There are a lot of good books to learn from. The trick is to go through several and find books that explain things in a manner that you can understand. A book that was good for my style of learning might not be so useful for the way you learn.
