sorry but I do not agree that QTP/UFT Era is done yet! but use of selenium and ruby cucumber is increasing.... There are some technology which only works with QTP/UFT.. Can you automate Java Swing, Siebel, People Soft, Oracle Forms with Selenium? Nikhila, I think learning tool is not important as learning core programming. if you know programming well, tool can be learn in a month. so I would not worry about tool specific stuff but core programming is important. Learn vbscript/javascript, java/ruby and sql On side you can learn QTP/UFT, selenium, ruby cucumber, soap UI ect... but again if your coding skill is strong.. u can learn any tool anytime
