Not quite certain, yet. I've already tried 2-3 solution. Last iteration is
in "create road" only. At the origin, the idea was to do that from edit
mode, but I'm not sure anymore...

Yep, busy with it. I'll probably keep the "add node" (although useless as
everything will be doable from "add road") because It does no harm to keep
it.

That's already there. Just go to preferences and de-select "Separate move
mode". The difference is that you  move selected features instead of hovered
one. The advantage is that ALL selected items are moved at once...

Furthermore, I'm adding some support for road segments, as James suggested.
First step is to be able to move a single segment of a road.
