KML handling is a bit specific in Merkaartor 0.17. 1) KML is not considered as tracks, but rather as features like SHP. 2), to avoid licensing issue with unauthorized google imports, the built-in KML import only imports nodes, not roads 3) To bypass 2) you can rename your .kml and then force an import. GDAL will then be used as last resort, recognize a KML and import it as a SHP.
I'll probably remove any KML specifics in 0.18. KML will then be handled the same as SHP. - Chris - On Sun, Feb 27, 2011 at 00:25, Elizabeth Dodd <ed...@billiau.net> wrote: > I've just got a camera which outputs a kml file (which at the moment I > haven't successfully converted to gpx track, only waypoints). > When I try to view this series of kml placemarkers in Merkaartor I > can't find them, except in MapnikPlus, where they get the same marker > as any other unknown tagged item. > I think that if I modified a style I would be able to see my track in > Merkaartor, but I don't know where to start to achieve this. > > Liz > > _______________________________________________ > Merkaartor mailing list > Merkaartor@openstreetmap.org > http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/merkaartor >
