    I waited a few days for someone more able than myself to reply.  They
must all be busy, so I'll give a  response as best I can...

    I read somewhere that factoring has a success rate of 20%.

    Version 19 fixed a bug that was underestimating the time necessary, in
the early stages, by about 40%.
