There is a pre-release of mprime v21 on the server - confusingly it's 
called p95v21x.zip. There is one problem you should be aware of if 
you're running on an Athlon. mprime v21a keeps resetting the CPU 
type to Pentium II so you lose the prefetch speed up. The trick is 
to use mprime -m to reset the CPU type each time you start the 
program. This should be fixed in the release version.

I find there is very little difference in the execution speed of 
Prime95 on Win 2000 and mprime on linux with kernel v2.2. linux 
with kernel v2.4 is about 1% faster, Prime95 on Win 9x is about 
1% slower.

Incidentally it is _possible_ to run Prime95 on linux using wine over 
X, but this is not an efficient solution!
