I really appreciate your help with this. Anyone who has the GIMPS bug understands what this'll do to them.
Checking System Information, it says there is 32 MB Adapter RAM. It wouldn't be so bad if my times majorly improved when my monitor shuts down... But I don't think this is the problem because I had reasonable response for several months (it took a while to realize that the PIII1000 times on the benchmark page was for 133 speed RAM and that I have 100 speed and that I had to change what I thought was reasonable responese ;( ) - then it stopped - about the time I did a Windows Update. Checking Task Manager shows Prime95 getting 99% CPU, but a EXPLORER.EXE process keeps jumping up to get 1% which is activity I don't remember from before. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jud McCranie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Carleton Garrison" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, November 10, 2001 7:32 PM Subject: Re: Mersenne: timings > At 06:47 PM 11/10/2001 -0500, Carleton Garrison wrote: > >I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 with a ATI Mobility M4 which I'm pretty sure is > >PCI. > > As George and I found out, the problem is when the video card is sharing > your main RAM.
